Celebrate America's good-time music!  The Polka Hall of Fame preserves and promotes the style of American dance music that emerged from Cleveland's Slovenian and nationality neighborhoods a century ago and became a national sensation.  The music got the country dancing after World War II when America's Polka King Frank Yankovic scored million-selling hits.  Audio exhibits, historic photographs, and the Hall of Fame gallery help tell the story of the Cleveland-style polka, also known as the Slovenian style.  The collection includes accordions of polka stars, such as Yankovic, Johnny Pecon, Johnny Vadnal and Eddie Habat, along with an archive of 6,000 vintage recordings dating back a century.  The Polka Hall of Fame attracts music-lovers from across the U.S. and Canada with large-scale events, like the Slovenian Sausage Festival, the Thanksgiving Polka Weekend at the Downtown Cleveland Marriott, and the annual Polka Music Awards Show.  Members can nominate and vote for annual winners in several polka music categories, as well as for lifetime achievement.
