The Stow Historical Society was founded in January 1950 with 30 charter members.  The objective of the society was "to gather and record all historical data pertaining to the development of Stow Township."  The Historical Society now preserves and maintains three furnished historic house museums and a one-room schoolhouse.  Member meetings are held monthly from March to December.  An annual Harvest Festival is held the first weekend of October, featuring apple butter, crafters, historic house tours, entertainment, good food, and children's activities.  Private tours are available by appointment.
